Testudo-MC Line
The Testudo-MC Line refers to a range of Medium-sized vehicles employed by Pikasistan, but also of main battle tanks. The line is caracterized by the wide variety of vehicles compared, even with the versatile Spartacus-LC Line, thus composing the major part of the ground vehicles of the Magnam Imperii.
History: One of the oldest pieces of military hardware in current service within the Magnam Imperii, the Testudo Line's History is one which got a powerful impact in the way equipment development is conducted to the current day. Indeed, the Testudo line was designed during a period of military spending cutbacks as Empress Gloriana focused on the development of the outer colonies of the Greater Imperium by then, forcing a partial privatisation of certain aspects of equipment procurement. The original designs were made by the private firm Nova Motus Cognitia, which proposed a quad-track design for the Testudo-T and a similar 6 wheels design for the Testudo-W. However, outside of propulsion, the capabilities of the vehicle were widely exagerated and following many catastrophic tests, including live fire demonstrations, the Senatorum Imperialis launched the Themistocles-Claudii commission, which unveiled several issues with the new acquisition programs and caused important reforms. After nearly 7 years of redesigning, the Testudo would finally be cleared for active duty and its innovative design would prove to be the basis for many new variants, but also severely impact the development of current generation heavy and super-heavy vehicles, such as the Masada and Byzantium Lines.
perform ground combat operations (including notably the Testudo-W Tank Destroyer) and the other revolving aroundsupport roles such as APC or engineering (like the Testudo-W APC and the Testudo-W Combat Engineering Vehicle.) Combat oriented variants all feature better amour at the cost of the loss of firing ports, whilst certain support vehicles lack in mobility, either due to heavy equipment or operational roles ill-suited for high speeds (such as Medivacs).
