Astar-Class
The Astar-Class was the backbone of smaller Pikasistani fleets throughout the last decades. Its infrastructure and armament made it a popular vessel and a great ship for less experienced crews as it prepared them to operate larger vessels.
However, the vessel was shown to demonstrate many weeknesses during the recent wars, notably due to its subpar speed and maneuvrability compared to other polities corvettes and has been gradually phased out of Pikasistani fleets in favor of the more flexible Hemiola-Class. Despite this, the vessel remains popular among both the brass and rank and file military officers and the vessel maintains to this day an important presence in the Pikasistani fleets. It's durability as also been noticed by other nations and the Protectorate of Fiskplat, a client state of the Magnam Imperii, operates its own variation of the Astar. |

Hemiolia-Class Corvette
Originally designed as a patrol vessel, the Hemiola-Class was forced to be deployed as a mainstray ship during the second Aesir War to supplement the massive losses of Astar-class corvettes of the PCN. It is smaller and less armed than the Astar, yet it is able to land on low-g planetoids and perform boarding actions, as well as carrying a small contingent of marines.
Due to its weaker structure, some veterans tend to call this vessel a flying coffin and there is even push-back from the military hierarchy against the gradual supplenting of the venerable Astar-Class by the Hemiola. |
