Economic Overview of Pikasis
The economy of the Magnam Imperii is a mixed economy, with the central government controling most of the nation's militaro-industrial complex and some strategic sectors, including interplanetary communications. According to the 5910 AUC numbers, the government and state-owned industry account for roughly 23% of the national output, with private corporations accounting for the rest of the income.
Development:
While the Arcenian Praefectura is largely centered on its teritiary sector, the nature of space colonization makes it so the frontier acts as a sort of semi-periphery for the Magnam Imperii. Those other sectors usually are driven by the secondary sector or, in rare cases, the primary sector, like in the case of the Agris sector. Despite this, the infrastructure level within the Betan parts of the Magnam Imperii are relatively similar, notably due to Imperial policymakers who seek to maintain the quality of life of the residents of the frontier.
Life in the Deltan possessions however is far more uneven, with the recently warthorn worlds of the now defunct Elysium Concordat rarely depending on the terciary sector as their main source of income, with the exception of the world of Geolia. This being said, reconstruction efforts have allowed to strenghten the secondary sector and a transition to terciary sector economy can be seen on some worlds as modern infrastructure and communications with the wider Imperium are getting more frequent.
Trade:
Due to its extremist policies towards non-human species, the Magnam Imperii has long been isolated from intergalactic trade, having only a handful of trading partners, most of which being either members or observers states of the Compact. Accordingly, trade only accounts for 13,9% of its GDP (5910 AUC numbers).
The main economic partners of the Magnam Imperii are, in order of importance, the Fedeorati Olimpiada, the Protectorate of Fiskplat and the Menchlischer Sternenstaat, although there was a noted increase of trade with the Republic of Emesia, who signed a strategic partnership with Pikasis in 5908 AUC.
The trade balance of the Magnam Imperii is currently negative, notably due to massive importations of certain technologies in the Quantum Entanglement Communications and Antimatter reactors, two categories of products where the Pikasistani lag behind the rest of the galaxy even to this day.
