Magna Dynamica (MD) is a megacorporation operating from the world of Nova Tarentia in the Legatis System. It is a pioneer in advanced material technologies. Major advancements from Magna Dynamica notably improved the FTL speed of most contemporary PCC vessels, the patent for the osmium-lutetium alloy used in the construction of the spaceship frames giving the company vast prestige within the military. As of 5909 AUC, the company was embrodied in a massive scandal surrounding an incident in Emesian Space, forcing the CEO and CTO of MD to resign.
Early History: Established in 5249 AUC in a laboratory of the Nova Tarentia Academy of Material Sciences by Drs. Epískopos and Tintinnabulum following the discovery of processes simplifying the refining of titanium ore. The money made by selling the process to the now defunct Lithea Mining Corporation allowing the two scientists to officially open their first reseach facility on the planet. Early Magna Dynamica discoveries mostly considered on improving refining processes of various ores, allowing them to sell the patents to various corporations.
By 5274 AUC, the corporation had expanded on other worlds of the core and started diversifying in other processes, notably in bioengineering. Those new branches found various degrees of success, but savy investment strategies allowed the company to stay afloat even as some of those divisions were forced to shut down.
Recent History: In 5812 AUC, the Supraluminical Materials Research Division noticed strange properties associated with osmium-lutecium alloy samples used on testing FTL probes. According to data, the sample had lost a small percentage of effective mass during transit. The experiment was replicated successfully on a new probe a few months later and by 5814 AUC, MD had finally optimised the alloy sufficiently to make it a marked improvement over traditional shipbuilding frames. Originally thought as a widespread patent that could be liscenced to many shipbuilding companies, the patent was officially bought for an undisclosed amount by the PCC, which is the only official producer of this specific alloy to this day.
More recently, MD was fined a record amount by the Emesian Republic and Imperial Authorities alike following an incident within Emesian space from their Advanced Energetics Division while testing what as been speculated to be an anti-fusion reactor. The controversy over poor security protocols employed by MD in and out of the [DATA CORRUPTED] OSEDA forcing then CEO Aestas Vilnius to resign alongside CTO Ariadne Andropopoulos.
